Mr. Exaud Lyimo is an assistant estate manager based at our Ifakara branch. He has over 30-year experience in carpenter & joinery. Previously, he served in our Bagamoyo branch, Dar es Salaam office and our Ifakara partner, St. Francis Referral Hospital.

Mr. Lyimo in an IHI employee since 2009. He attended Primary School at Kilimanjaro Shia and graduated in 1984. He then joined West Hai Furniture workshop where he was trained in theory and practice in all kinds of carpentry work.

Mr. Lyimo currently holds a Carpentry & Joinery Certificate from National Vocation Training Center (NVTC) Dar es Salaam where he graduated in 2000. He was forced to join carpentry workshop instead of secondary school due to family problems.

Mr. Lyimo started his carpentry career in 1986 at West Hai Furniture Makers in Kilimanjaro where he was employed as a carpenter & joinery. From 1991-1993, he was at the National Vocational and Training Center (NVTC) - now Vocational Education and Training Center (VETA) – where he studied and graduated as carpenter & joinery grade 1.

From 1993-2000 he operated his own carpentry workshop. From 2001-2004, he joined Swiss Garden Hotel where he was involved in building construction and maintenance. Between 2004 and 2007, he joined the Swiss Lab System GmbH as technical assistant and from 2008-2009, he joined West Hai Furniture Makers as carpentry workshop supervisor.

Projects. When Mr. Lyimo joined IHI in August 2009, he was posted to the IHI Bagamoyo branch – particularly to assist in Kingani and BRTC renovation and building work as assistant estate manager. He stayed there for two years. #
