A Visionary in Health Research

Dr. Moshi Moshi Shabani is not just a medical doctor but a driven researcher with a fervent commitment to clinical and public health studies. Graduating from the University of Dar-es-Salaam Mbeya College of Health and Allied Sciences, Moshi's journey into the realm of health research began early in his career.

Throughout his professional journey, Moshi has garnered significant achievements and accolades. Notably, he was awarded a prestigious research grant from Gilead Sciences Global Public Health Awards Program, becoming the first Tanzanian early career researcher to receive such an honor. His project, "The 3HS Model," aims to address viral hepatitis, STIs, and HIV among blood donors in southern Tanzania.

Moshi's career milestones extend beyond grants and awards. He has excelled in various capacities, from completing internships at Mbeya Zonal Referral Hospital to serving as a registrar in orthopedics and traumatology. His research presentations have earned him recognition, including awards for best oral and poster presentations at national and international conferences.

Looking to the future, Moshi is driven by a profound desire to contribute to global health through research. His current projects span diverse areas, from improving post-donation counseling for blood donors to evaluating malaria vaccine candidates. With a steadfast commitment to lifelong learning and a wide array of memberships in medical and youth organizations, Moshi is poised to make lasting contributions to health research and beyond.
