Research Scientist (1 post) – Insectary, Bagamoyo

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting HPLC systems, implementing and refining analytical methods, preparing and processing samples.

Position Summary

Ifakara Health Institute, through the Achieve Study, is seeking a qualified and experienced Research Scientist to support laboratory analytical activities involving HPLC-based quantification of insecticidal compounds under Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) standards.

The successful candidate will be responsible for operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting HPLC systems, implementing and refining analytical methods, preparing and processing samples from insecticide-treated materials, and ensuring generation of high-quality and traceable data. 

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold an MSc or PhD in Chemical or Biological Sciences with knowledge of GLP principles and regulatory frameworks.

Candidates should demonstrate experience in HPLC and analytical chemistry, familiarity with insecticidal or pesticidal chemical classes, and experience working in GLP-compliant laboratory environments. Proficiency in scientific software and data analysis tools is required.
