Research Officer Intern (3 posts) – Dar

The successful candidates will work closely with project scientists and mentors to execute data science and mathematical modelling tasks related to health research.

Position Summary

Ifakara Health Institute, through the DM4M Project, is seeking highly motivated Research Officer Interns to join a multidisciplinary team working to strengthen local capacity in data science, mathematical modelling, and computational approaches to public health. The internship is designed to provide practical training and hands-on experience in mathematical modelling, machine learning, artificial intelligence (AI), software programming, and data management and analysis, with a strong focus on infectious disease research, particularly malaria.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold an Advanced Diploma, Bachelor’s, or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Engineering, Mathematics, Mathematical Modelling, Health Informatics, Economics, or a related discipline. Prior experience in developing web-based database applications is required.
