Laboratory Scientist Intern (2 posts) – Dar

The successful candidate will become part of the MSMT2 laboratory team and will be required to demonstrate dedication and commitment to the project’s training programme.

Position Summary

Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a highly motivated Laboratory Scientist Intern to join the MSMT2 project, based in Dar es Salaam. The internship offers an opportunity for a recent graduate to receive structured training and gain hands-on experience in routine and specialized laboratory procedures supporting malaria molecular surveillance and related research activities.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science, Molecular Biology, or Biotechnology obtained within the past 24 months, with a minimum GPA of 3.8 and demonstrated potential for scientific leadership. Academic certificates and transcripts are required. Prior experience in genomics and practical molecular biology techniques is essential, and at least one year of experience in a related field will be considered an added advantage. Experience with data visualization tools such as R is highly preferred.
