The Ifakara Health Institute extends warm Mawlid greetings to all staff, collaborators, partners, and Tanzanians at home and abroad. On this special day, we join Muslims worldwide in reflection and inspiration as we commemorate the birth of the Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him).

Mawlid—also known as Maulid, Mawlūd, or Mīlād—is observed on the 12th day of Rabīʿ al-Awwal. It has been a cherished tradition in the Muslim world since the 13th century, symbolizing unity, faith, and community.

In Tanzania, as in many countries, this day is recognized as a public holiday, giving us all a moment to honor the values of compassion, guidance, and service that the Prophet exemplified.
