The Ifakara Health Institute extends warm wishes to all stakeholders in public health, agriculture, and research as Tanzania celebrates Farmers’ Day.

We are proud once again to participate in the 2025 Nane Nane Exhibition, held at the Julius Nyerere Exhibition Grounds in Morogoro from August 1–8, 2025.

About Nane Nane

Nane Nane, which translates to "eight eight" in Swahili (August 8), is Tanzania’s Farmers’ Day, celebrating the critical role of farmers in building the nation’s economy. Leading up to the day, a week-long national agricultural exhibition brings together farmers, researchers, public institutions, private sector players, and NGOs to exchange knowledge and showcase innovations.

Ifakara’s Role

For several years, Ifakara has been a key participant in the Nane Nane exhibitions, consistently joining the event at the invitation of the Ifakara Town Council. This platform allows us to highlight how science and research contribute to healthier communities and a more resilient agricultural ecosystem.

As an institute rooted in science, health, and community-based research, Ifakara brings a unique perspective to Nane Nane. Our presence highlights the intersection of agriculture and public health and supports this year’s national theme: “Visionary Leadership for a Resilient Future: Advancing Sustainability of Agricultural Ecosystems.”
