ENGAGEMENT: Ifakara project hosts sensitization meeting in Dodoma
On February 23, 2024, the Global Health Program Evaluation, Analysis, Research and Learning - "GH PEARL" project organized a one-day sensitization meeting with key stakeholders from the Ministries of Health (MoH) and President’s Office Regional Administration and Local government (PO-RALG) in Dodoma, Tanzania.
The primary focus of the meeting was to provide insights into GH PEARL activities in Tanzania and also to discuss and identify potential areas for collaboration, particularly in Family Planning, Reproductive, Maternal, Newborn and Child health and Nutrition (FP/RMNCH+N).
Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) is a member of the Global Health Program Evaluation, Analysis, Research and Learning (GH PEARL) consortium led by the University of Carolina (UNC) in collaboration with GEMNet-Health; Ifakara Health Institute; International Centre for Diarrhoeal Disease Research, Bangladesh; Palladium International, LLC; Q2 Impact; and Tulane University.
Funded by USAID through the University of North Carolina of Chapel Hill (UNC-CH) the project will be implemented over a four-year timeframe with the aim to effectively generate and utilize high-quality data and evidence with the goal of strengthening policies and program implementation to improve health and save lives in low and middle-income countries (LMIC).
During the sensitization meeting, GH PEARL Tanzania offered a detailed overview of its ongoing activities in the country. By presenting the consortium's initiatives, research findings, and data-driven outcomes, GH PEARL aimed to foster a sense of shared responsibility among stakeholders for addressing healthcare challenges in Tanzania.
