Ifakara Health Institute (IHI) Chief Executive Director, Dr. Honorati Masanja, gave a keynote speech at the Muhimbili University of Health and Allied Sciences (Muhas)-Harvard University Collaborative Symposium held in Dar es Salaam today. The title of his keynote speech was, ‘Reduction of diarrhea specific mortality in children in Tanzania from 1985 to present.’

Dr. Masanja was among five speakers who addressed participants of a day-long symposium sponsored by the Swedish International Development Cooperation Agency (SIDA) whose theme was, ‘The landscape of diarrheal diseases in children in Tanzania, and the way forward.’

Dr. Wafaie Fawzi, professor of Epidemiology and Global Health at Harvard University chaired and moderated the symposium. Other speakers were: Dr. Karim Manji, professor of Pediatrics at Muhas; Dr. Rodrick Kisenge, Lecturer and Consultant Pediatrician at Muhas; Ms. Upendo Kibwana, Lecturer in Microbiology and Immunology at Muhas; and Ms. Sarah Somji, study coordinator at Muhas. #IHIimpact #IHIshares #IHIengages
