WALK: Better healthcare for Tanzanian women

On Saturday, the Ifakara Health Institute took part in the Well Women Center: Fundraising Walk organized by the Medical Women Association of Tanzania (MEWATA) within the Mbweni area, Dar es Salaam. 

Under the theme "Harmony in health: Fostering Solutions through Partnership, Technology and Gender Equity in Community Care, MEWATA organized this event on April 20, 2024, to bring together women in the medical field from all over the country with the aim of raising over TZS, 1,000,000,000 /= (One Billion Tanzanian Shillings) to support construction of the first phase of the MEWATA Well Women Center (WWC) which will be located in the Mbweni area. 

MEWATA envisions the WWC to provide a safe and comfortable environment where women from all over Tanzania can receive comprehensive health care services, health education and support tailored to their specific needs, Ifakara is proud to be among the sponsors for this event.
