BLOG: Innovation to end malaria
Ifakara Health Institute research scientist, Felista Tarimo, recently collaborated with the Outreach Network for Gene Drive Research on a blog post discussing the Yaounde Declaration, signed on March 6 in Cameroon by Health Ministers from African countries with the highest malaria burden.
The Yaounde Declaration is a commitment by 11 African countries to ensure "No one shall die from malaria".
The blog highlights the commitments of these countries to reduce malaria mortality. Health ministers meeting in Yaoundé, Cameroon, on March 6, 2024, reaffirmed their dedication to these goals and pledged mutual accountability.
Originally published on the Gene Drive Network website on March 27, 2024, Felista's blog discusses the work her colleagues at Transmission Zero are doing in the fight towards zero malaria.
