On World Malaria Day 2020, the World Health Organization (WHO) stresses we must continue to be bold and assert that “Zero malaria starts with me”. According to the WHO, the theme of this year’s celebration emphasizes the critical need to ensure malaria elimination remains high on the political agenda, and that adequate resources are mobilized and allocated to malaria programs, especially as we combat COVID-19.

A top malaria researcher at IHI penned an article for Malaria Day 2020, in which he explains why we can’t afford to lose resources meant for fighting malaria to the coronavirus. Read the article here: Malaria still kills 1,100 a day. It can’t afford to lose resources to coronavirus. #
