Mohamed Mbaruku is a seasoned Research Nurse with over four years of experience working within the Chronic Diseases Clinic of Ifakara (CDCI),  the largest rural prospective cohort for individuals living with HIV in Sub-Saharan Africa.

Trained at the prestigious Edgar Maranta School of Nursing in Tanzania, Mohamed conducts research activities and coordinates research projects. His accomplishments include the successful completion of two projects within the Kilombero and Ulanga Anti-Retroviral Cohort, "Expanding Xpert Ultra Testing for TB diagnostics among HIV-positive patients admitted to hospitals in Tanzania and Mozambique" (2022-present) and "A Prospective Implementation Study for Pre-Exposure Prophylaxis Among HIV Serodiscordant Couples in Rural Tanzania.” Notably, he previously served as a Data Officer for the Kilombero and Ulanga Anti-Retroviral Cohort (2020-2021).

Looking ahead, Mohamed is set to pursue further studies, including a Bachelor's in General Nursing and a Master's in Public Health.
