Job Description

Position Summary Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a qualified Research Officer to be stationed at the Bagamoyo Branch. The successful candidate will be responsible for ensuring that delegated phases of GLP-compliant studies are conducted in accordance with approved protocols and Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), and that high-quality data and reports are produced accurately, on time, and to the satisfaction of the sponsor where applicable. The Research Officer will play a key role in supporting the planning and execution of study experiments, ensuring strict adherence to study plans, and identifying and addressing any deviations from protocols or SOPs. The role includes participation in the development and review of study protocols, contributing to final report writing, validating data integrity, and ensuring compliance with Good Laboratory Practice (GLP) principles throughout the study lifecycle.

Qualifications and Experience

Applicants must hold a Bachelor of Science (BSc) degree in Microbiology or a related field. Desirable experience includes data analysis using STATA, involvement in phase one laboratory experiments, and prior experience conducting experiments under GLP standards.
