Job Description

Position Summary Ifakara Health Institute is seeking a Data Analyst to join the  East Africa (EA) Node of the Malaria Atlas Project (MAP) team. The role involves supporting the development of software and systems for studying malaria and related topics, from design to maintenance. The Data Analyst will work with a team to create world-class software and user-friendly systems, including robust APIs for data access by both internal and external users to access the project's data.

Skills

, including the ability to convey complex information clearly, are important. A strong grasp of relational and non-relational database design, knowledge of web services, and the ability to quickly adapt to new software, frameworks, and APIs are also valuable skills. Qualifications and Experience

The ideal candidate should have a Master's degree in computer science, software development, or a related field, along with at least 1 year of data science experience. A PhD in a related field is desirable. Proficiency in programming languages like Java and Python/R, as well as expertise in handling large datasets and SQL databases, is essential. Familiarity with web front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and excellent English language communication
