The Ifakara Health Institute is proud to celebrate the election of Prof. Deusdedith Ishengoma to the Board of Directors of the American Society of Tropical Medicine and Hygiene (ASTMH).

Prof. Ishengoma’s election is a significant achievement that reflects his longstanding contribution to tropical medicine and public health research, as well as the recognition of his expertise within the global scientific community.

The election also highlights the strength of the IHI community. Following an internal call for colleagues to support Prof. Ishengoma’s candidacy, IHI staff actively participated in the voting process, contributing to his successful election.

As a member of the ASTMH Board of Directors, Prof. Ishengoma will contribute to the Society’s leadership and its efforts to advance research, education, clinical practice and public health in tropical medicine.

His appointment is also a proud moment for IHI, showcasing the Institute’s contribution to developing and supporting scientists who make an impact both nationally and internationally.
