The TB CHILD project will evaluate a large spectrum of novel diagnostic devices from point-of-care tools to test suitable for higher level laboratories. The ultimate goal is to improve the means of diagnosing TB in children and to develop a concept for interventions that can advance management of childhood TB at different levels of health care.
The evaluation studies of the TB CHILD project follow the concept for the development of tuberculosis diagnostics, published by the Stop TB Partnership’s New Diagnostics Working Group, describing the pathway for new tuberculosis diagnostics in detail from initial concept to development, evaluation, delivery, scale-up, and impact assessment.
