Short Title Morbidity Monitoring and Characterization of Malaria

 Project Leader Salim Abdulla

Description The objectives of this study will be addressed by conducting monitoring of childhood illnesses in a defined population of children in the study area. A passive case detection (PCD) of all clinical episodes occurring in under-five year children will be set up to include all children attending the BDH and sentinel dispensaries in the study area. Inpatient tracking will also be done in the same facilities. Parents/guardians of children under-five years in the study area will be asked for consent to participate in a Morbidity Surveillance System (MSS) which will facilitate the compilation of information about childhood illnesses.
