The goal is to develop and evaluate a new generation of improved methodologies for
monitoring, evaluating and controlling malaria transmission.
The objectives are to;
Develop a set of
standardized measures of malaria transmission that can be used across the full
range of intensities that it exists.
Evaluate the
effectiveness of different transmission-reducing malaria control interventions,
both alone and in various combinations in environments with varying parasite
transmission levels.
Assess the
impact of biological factors associated with vector populations, such as
variable levels or different mechanisms of insecticide resistance or variation
in vector behaviors, on the effectiveness of malaria control interventions.
