 Full Title Infection Biology and Epidemiology of Staphyolococci and 
Staphylococcal Disease in sub-Saharan Africa.

 Description The project is an epidemiology study which will look at the type of Staphyolococci bacteria in sub-Saharan Africa (i.e. Bagamoyo, Tanzania, Gabon & Mozambique).  The project focuses isolation and characterization of clinical isolates of Staphylococcus aureus to determine the prevalence of the Staphylococcus aureus strains and the type of disease caused by different strains.

The information obtained from the project will be used to provide basis of injections caused by S. aureus and hence interventions in diagnostics therapy and preventive measures.  In Bagamoyo, health and injected individuals will be enrolled into the project for isolation S. aureus bacteria.
