 Full Title Understanding and Improving Access to Effective Malaria Treatment in Rural Tanzania

 Description The objectives of ACCESS Project are to:

1. Improve health seeking behaviour (especially for fever cases, but also other conditions such as pneumonia or malnutrition) and compliance with the recommended first line treatment for all malaria episodes among the population in Ulanga and Kilombero Districts;

2. Improve quality of care (case management in terms of diagnosis, prescription, treatment dosage, advice) in health facilities, especially for malaria cases;

3. Strengthen patients’ position (patient’s rights and duties, knowledge on appropriate quality of care and functionality of community health funds);

4. Strengthen household economic resources and as a corollary appropriate and timely utilization of healthcare services, especially for malaria care.
