The IHI- IRB is going to run a one day training workshop on application of health research ethics (HRE) in the field. Oversight visits conducted on different ongoing projects during the period of 2009 and recently in 2010 have highlighted an important gap in particular the “Informed Consent Process”. This workshop which is a series of a number for 2010 will target investigators. Since data collection in the field operates under the direction and responsibility of investigators, this one day course will equipe investigators with necessary knowledge on how to ensure HRE principles are preserved in the field.
The training is for IHI investigators from any of its branches across the country. Cost of participant training as well as meals and drinks during the workshop will be covered by the IRB. However, other costs such as per diem for those coming FROM outside DSM and sitting allowances will not be covered by the IRB. Investigators who are interested in attending the workshop should send their applications to by Friday 16 April 2010.
