This morning, 19th October, a media briefing session was held to communicate the newly-published results of the RTS,S Phase 3 malaria vaccine. The meeting was attended by Dr Mmbando, Director Preventive Services, MOHSW; representatives from the National Institute for Medical Research, Ifakara Health Institute and members of the media. A presentation by Dr Samwel Gesase (NIMR) and Dr Salim Abdulla (IHI) outlined the background to the vaccine's development and the significance of the latest results.
