Ifakara Health Institute owes its name to the original site in Ifakara Town, Morogoro Region. This remains the registered office of IHI. There is now a co-ordination office in Dar es Salaam, where the Directors' offices are located. IHI has additional sites in Bagamoyo, Rufiji, Kigoma, Dodoma and Mtwara.
